Fossilized coral set in silver with hammered brass detail.
Fossilized or agatized coral is ancient sea coral that was buried millions of years ago and very, very slowly turned into microcrystalline quartz (agate). I found this beautiful fan-shaped cabochon in a sweet little crystal shop during a trip up the Garden Route. The swirling greens and browns remind me of a satellite image of Earth, the big blue ball that is our home, offering me a bit of perspective as worked. I designed this pendant around the gemstone.
