Introducing a brand new course for beginners...
Stone-setting in Silver
We'll spend three mornings making a gorgeous bezel-set ring or pendant in silver, using a gemstone of your choice. It's such a great feeling to be able to say you've made it yourself!
Date: 29, 30 September and 1 October 2021
Time: 10am - 1pm on all 3 days
Ticket includes: silver & all consumables, access to a full range of jeweller's tools & equipment, and tea / coffee.
A small selection of cabochon-cut gemstones will be available for you to choose from. If you would prefer to bring your own cabochon stone to set, please contact me prior to the start of the course to check whether it is suitable for this project.
Day 1 - metal preparation
Day 2 - construction of the setting and ring shank or pendant bale
Day 3 - setting and finishing
This course is perfect for beginners or intermediate silversmiths wanting to take things up a notch. No prior silversmithing experience necessary.
In this workshop you'll learn the process of hand-fabricating silver - smelting, rolling, annealing, piercing, filing, soldering, polishing and more. This is the age-old art of the silversmith.
Because of the limited space in the studio, tickets are unfortunately not refundable or transferable. This workshop may be cancelled or postponed if there are less than two tickets purchased - in this case any tickets that have been purchased will either be transferred or refunded in full at your discretion.
See you at the bench...
